The sun is out this morning, and despite what looks like a few wet moments this week, it appears we’ll have some longer stretches of that high-angle June sunshine that warms local waters, stretches daylight from early morning into late evening, and maximizes your time to play outside.
Monday is also the official unofficial day to get signed up for your weekly activities and make sure you have everything you need to fully immerse yourself and your family in Vermont.
Has your 9 to 15-year-old ever participated in High Adventure Specialty Camp? This program checks all the boxes for this age group, featuring elevated activities that venture throughout Vermont and highlight some of the state’s more adventurous offerings. Participants will tackle a treetop obstacle course, kayak on Lake Elmore, and enjoy two separate days of rock climbing, one indoors and one outdoors. Your teens will remember these experiences long after you’ve headed home.
3 Mountain Outfitters and The Country Store are both must-visit stops on Monday, too. Stock up on essentials for your mountainside condo. You know the drill: milk, eggs, bread… and maybe a cold beverage for after a day full of activities. Then pop next door and treat yourself to a truly comfortable pair of Keen trail shoes, a rain shell that actually keeps you dry, and a souvenir T-shirt or sweatshirt. After all, what good vacation isn’t remembered on a cotton tee?
We have our first comedy show of the season tonight in the lower level of the Meeting House. This 21+ show begins at 9:15 pm and features Mike Koutrobis, whose bio says his “comedy blends the chaos of modern life, getting older, fatherhood later in life, and everyday absurdities into a style that feels both personal and universally funny.”
