The weather is sweet and living is easy up here at Smuggs. A picture-perfect summer weekend is on tap, which means just about every adventure on your list has a green light. Whether you’re heading out on a mountain hike, cooling off in the Brewster River, cruising the Village on bikes, or simply settling into an Adirondack chair with a good book, this is the kind of weekend Vermont does best. There are plenty of ways to stay busy, and just as many reasons to slow down for a while. However you vacation, this is your invitation to get out there and enjoy it.
Hot Diggity Dog
Did you know Smuggs now has a mobile hot dog cart? You’ll find it parked on the Village Green during Tuesday’s Backyard Bash and Thursday’s Vermont Country Fair, serving up street-style hot dogs and Italian sausages loaded however you like. Go classic with ketchup, or pile on chili, cheese sauce, New York style onion sauce, or peppers and onions. Chips, water, and adult beverages are just a quick QR code scan away, making it an easy dinner before the evening fun kicks into gear.
Waterville Old Home Day
If you’re looking to experience a slice of small-town Vermont this weekend, make the short drive over to Waterville Old Home Day on Saturday. The celebration begins with an 11:00 am parade down Main Street before spilling onto the Town Hall and Village Green with field games, local food, live entertainment, and plenty of hometown character. It’s a classic Vermont summer tradition that’s well worth adding to your weekend plans.
