It was a wonderful gathering of any patroller who has worked here in the past and\/or is currently working here at Smuggs. On Saturday, they assembled at the summit of Sterling at the end of the day for sweep. They then skied down together in a group to celebrate. Patrollers wore their jackets from the past and present. It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces and to catch up! On Saturday, we had 69 trails open, and there were 69 inches of snow on the stake on Mount Mansfield. Today, we have top-to-bottom skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with 6 lifts operating, including Madonna I. We have 67 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 31 trails have been groomed for today, including Chilcoot, Smugglers&#8217; Alley, and Snow Snake for a total of 167 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are variable and machine groomed with average base depths of 14 to 54 inches. Currently, it is partly cloudy, with a temperature of 21 degrees at the summit of Sterling and winds of 10 to 20 mph. Today&#8217;s forecast is a chance of snow showers early, then skies becoming partly sunny, breezy, with a high of 34 degrees at the base and 31 degrees at higher elevations.
