Closing weekend

The day started with a summit temperature of 48 degrees and partly sunny skies. It was a wonderful day to harvest the corn! Everything softened up quickly with the warm temperatures. My trail pick of the day was Black Snake, down the neck to the Practice Slope. I love the steep on Black Snake just after Jolly Rodger, then drop onto the neck, and then GS turns on the wide open Practice Slope! I had so much fun I did this combo multiple times. Tomorrow, we plan to have both the Madonna I Lift and the Sterling Lift operating. Temperatures drop overnight, but don’t make it to freezing until late; this will delay grooming, which will delay lift operations. We plan to have the Sterling Lift open at 9 am and the Madonna I Lift at 10 am. We want to provide the best conditions possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We plan to have 28 trails open with terrain for intermediates and experts. 18 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Upper FIS, Smugglers’ Alley, and Practice Slope for a total of 99 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and variable with average base depths of 12 to 50 inches. Currently, it is partly cloudy and 50 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Tomorrow’s forecast is a chance of snow showers early, then partly sunny skies, breezy, with a high of 39 degrees at the base and 34 degrees at higher elevations. The last day of lift operations is this Sunday, April 12th.
